Mission Statement
Not So Crazy After All or the Not So Crazy After All movement is a grass roots, not for profit organization / activist movement devoted to combating injustices with the Canadian mental health system. It was started by Chris Ducharme along with a small group of his friends and family. After he experienced and witnessed many horrific things in numerous mental health facilities in Canada. Not So Crazy After All aims to orchestrate and facilitate mental health activism in Canada, defend the rights and liberties of psychiatric patients, and raise awareness of the many injustices within the Canadian mental health system.Goals
Our short term goals are;
To get Chris Ducharme's story heard and find him justice.To create a proactive network of mental health activists to coordinate and facilitate mental health activism in Canada.
To raise awareness of the many injustices in the Canadian mental health system.
Our long term goals are
To create a powerful community driven organization that offers aid and assistance to psychiatric patients that are facing adversity.To have treatment with dangerous pharmaceuticals be officially recognized as a last resort in mental health treatment.
To have the government enforced accountability measures that ensure the safety and fair treatment of psychiatric patients.
To have treatment of high doses of anti-psychotic medications be officially recognized as a form of torture.
We plan on achieving those goals through;
Networking
Events and protests
Fliers, pamphlets and posters
Street and door-to-door canvassing
